Summer Concert and News

Dear Friends of Project Music,

As this inaugural season winds to a close, I am so happy to report that PROJECT MUSIC exceeded even my expectations, and I was looking forward to a great success!  Thanks to your support, to our model partnership with DOMUS/Chester Addison Community Center, to all our community partners listed below, and especially to the exceptional staff which works with the students four days a week (also devoting the time to accompany them to extracurricular performances whenever scheduled), PROJECT MUSIC (both at Chester Addison Community Center and Waterside School) is thriving and our students are achieving new benchmarks daily!
On behalf of the Board, faculty, volunteers and students, I invite you to join us at Chester Addison Community Center (245 Selleck Street) this coming Friday, July 3, from 12 – 1pm when our students will wrap up their two-week Summer Session with a short concert. We will also unveil two spectacular murals created a few weeks ago when the students’ drawings came to life with the help of Paul Larson from Loft Artists Association plus 15 wonderful volunteers from Deloitte as part of Deloitte’s annual IMPACT DAY for its employees!  On Friday you will hear the PROJECT MUSIC Brass and Wind EnsemblePROJECT MUSIC Bucket Band, and the PROJECT MUSIC Choir and I know you will be delighted at what they have accomplished in such a short time.
See for yourselves what a difference this program is making in the lives of these students, who are now taking advantage of access to high-quality music instruction and the opportunity to expand their horizons via the gift of music which so powerfully impacts their lives.  Just since December, the students have performed ‘on the road’ at ATRIA Stamford, the Palace Theatre Next Generation concertLoft Artists Association, the DOMUS fundraiserFairfield Theatre Company for SpreadMusicNow, plus performances this past weekend at Kiwanis Park and the Ferguson Library Auditorium as participants in Stamford Downtown‘s ARTWALK!
…and this is just the beginning!
Warmest Regards,
Joyce DiCamillo
Board President,  PROJECT MUSIC
