Ginga Brasileira is a performing ensemble with many years of experience in bringing the arts to students all over the northeast United States. On November 16th, they are bringing their production to Project Music at Chester Addison, with performances of samba, maculele, and capoeira, as well as a wealth of historical and cultural information that bring context to their art.
Our students have incorporated some of the basics of samba drumming into their percussion classes recently. They are excited for the opportunity to get feedback from professionals who have lived with this music for their entire lives. Perhaps someday soon, you will see Project Music marching and playing samba in a parade, just like at the Brazilian Carnaval!
