Our Programs

Students meet 4 days each week in our Community Center sites in Stamford.

(Boys & Girls Club, Yerwood Center, Chester Addison Community Center)

 

Students learn essential music skills such as instrument technique, sight reading, and music composition. By the time they are finished they will have performed in a live event and composed their very own piece.

 

With the pandemic, students took part in on-line distance learning and successfully completed the school year… down to a final recital – all virtually! 

 

Our after-school program is underway and we remain vigilant about our student’s health and safety, and are continuing to provide online learning opportunities for our students.  We are following all local and federal recommendations for limited, socially distanced in-person learning.

SISTEMA ACADEMY

Students in Grades 4-12

  • Daily band rehearsals (one hour, Monday through Thursday)
  • Individual and small-group lessons
  • Three ensemble groups, beginner, intermediate, and advanced
  • Students study flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, tuba, or percussion

PRELUDE PROGRAM – INTRO TO PROJECT MUSIC

Students in Grades 2 and 3

  • One 30-minute class per week
  • Small group instruction
  • “Bucket Band” percussion and exploratory introduction to wind instruments

SUMMER SESSION

Students in Grades 2-10

  • Two weeks, Monday-Friday, full days (8am-5pm)
  • Instrument technique, band rehearsal, blues improvisation, collective composition, fun recreation time
  • Breakfast and lunch provided

How We Help

Providing for our Students

PROJECT MUSIC provides our students with classes four times a week, in addition to music equipment and personal mentoring.
