What Project Music Scholarships Provide
-
🎵
Each student receives private lessons and ensemble rehearsals based on their musical development and ability.
We believe that musical excellence and confidence is cultivated through regular performance opportunities. As such, students have a myriad of opportunities to perform in the community as well as across the King School at various events. -
🎻
Every student receives a high-quality, well-maintained instrument of their choosing. Project Music also provides ongoing maintenance and instrument accessories like reeds, strings, etc..
-
🍎
Every child has access to a meal replacement snack, so you never have to worry that you student is hungry. All our snacks are considered meal replacements with over 1200 calories available.
-
📝
Our program is developed with a whole-child perspective in mind, so of course, every student has the opportunity to do their homework while at Project Music!
-
🤝
Because students hail from over 24 different schools across Fairfield County, students make long-lasting friends with students they would otherwise not meet. After surveying students, one our students’ main reasons (outside of music, of course!) is seeing their friends in a positive environment each day.
-
🚌
We provide transportation from every school in Stamford Public Schools to our main site at the King School. Each night, after the end of Project Music, we transport students to the Boys & Girls Club by Stillwater Avenue.
🎺 Hear Our Students 🎵
Meet Our Ellington Group
Our Ellington Ensemble is comprised of our most advanced students, many of whom have been a part Project Music for several years. Students who audition into your Ellington Ensemble are often booked for ‘gigs’ and represent Project Music in the community.
Meet Jackie Perez
Jackie’s an 11 year old student at Rogers elementary who learned trumpet at Project Music. Listen to her and Mr. Joe play a song together on trumpet and piano!
What do our students say?
Hear from our young leaders at Project Music in celebration for Teacher Appreciation Day and what Project Music means for them. We couldn’t have said it better ourselves! ☺️
