From Project Music to Professional Stage: Edwin's Journey

Recently, Edwin, one of our Project Music students, participated in the King School production of "The Drowsy Chaperone" as a member of the pit orchestra. His involvement stands as a shining example of the transformative impact Project Music has on its students. Amidst a group of seasoned professionals, Edwin's talent shone brightly, illuminating four remarkable performances. Notably, two of Project Music's teaching artists, Joe Kozlowski on trumpet and Garrett Mendez on trombone, were integral members of the pit orchestra, further showcasing the program's ability to cultivate exceptional musical talent.

"I am super proud of the growth and professionalism I see in Edwin's playing. I have been teaching since 4th grade, and to now see him playing in a professional band and being paid for it, is awesome."

- Garrett Mendez, Edwin's proud mentor.

Edwin's journey from Project Music to the professional stage underscores the program's capacity to not only develop musical prowess but also instill confidence and professionalism, preparing students for successful futures in the world of music.
