Maestro of Music: Gunnar Sahlin's Journey with Project Music

Project Music is thrilled to announce the addition of accomplished cellist Gunnar Salin to our esteemed faculty, thanks to our ongoing partnership with the Norwalk Symphony Orchestra and a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA). Since 2002, Gunnar has served as the Principal Cellist of the Norwalk Symphony Orchestra, and he will now offer expert cello instruction twice a week to Project Music students, providing them with unparalleled access to professional guidance and practical insights. His involvement is a cornerstone of the program, enriching students' musical journeys and inspiring them to achieve new heights in their artistic development.

Gunnar also conducts the Fairfield County Symphony Society and performs with his wife Suzanne as part of the duo "Duetto Viello," showcasing a diverse repertoire of traditional and contemporary viola and cello compositions.

We are excited to welcome Gunnar to our team, supporting our young cellists and performing with the Project Music Collective (PMC). A special thank you to Norwalk Symphony and Executive Director, Sandra Milklave for their ongoing partnership and support of Project Music!
