Project Music Students Accepted to CMEA Festivals: Celebrating Emily and Darwin's Achievements

We are excited to share that two of our talented students, Emily Iniguez and Darwin Padilla, have been accepted to perform in prestigious CMEA festivals this year, a true testament to their hard work and dedication.

Emily Iniguez
Emily, a dedicated flutist at Project Music for 8 years, was recently accepted into the CMEA Western Regional High School Festival, marking an exciting milestone in her musical journey. In 2024, she also participated in the prestigious Ravinia Festival, where she worked with world-class musicians to further develop her skills. Additionally, Emily earned a spot in YOLA (Youth Orchestra Los Angeles), a highly regarded program inspired by Venezuela’s El Sistema and led by Gustavo Dudamel. These achievements showcase Emily’s talent, dedication, and passion for music, inspiring those around her as she continues to grow as a young musician.

Darwin Padilla
Darwin, who began playing the clarinet just two years ago, is already making impressive progress. After joining Project Music in 2023, Darwin’s dedication and passion for music have paid off, and we are proud to announce his acceptance into the CMEA Western Region Middle School Festival. This festival provides a great opportunity for middle school musicians to showcase their talent and work with top-tier educators. Darwin’s participation is an exciting step in his musical development, and we look forward to seeing his continued growth.

About CMEA
The Connecticut Music Educators Association (CMEA), founded in 1932, is one of the oldest and most respected state music educator organizations in the U.S. The CMEA Northern Region High School Festival and CMEA Western Region Middle School Festival attract some of the best young musicians from Connecticut. Students must audition to earn a spot in these prestigious events, making Emily and Darwin’s acceptance even more remarkable.

At Project Music, we are incredibly proud of Emily and Darwin’s accomplishments and are excited to continue supporting them as they progress in their musical careers. Their participation in these festivals reflects not only their personal dedication but also the high-quality music education they are receiving at Project Music.

We look forward to celebrating even more achievements with them and all of our students!
