Celebrating 50 Years of El Sistema
At PROJECT MUSIC, we are proud to join the global celebration of El Sistema’s 50th anniversary, honoring five decades of transforming lives through music education. Pedro Falcón, Program Director, and Carmen Delgado, Flute Teaching Artist, were both shaped by El Sistema in Venezuela. Their experiences as young musicians in this renowned program continue to inspire their work at PROJECT MUSIC, where they help bring the same values of excellence, inclusion, and community to our students.
PROJECT MUSIC is the only Sistema-inspired program in Connecticut and we solidified our official partnership in September of 2024 when our Executive Director Gabrielle Molina traveled to Venezuela to meet the El Sistema Venezuela leadership.
As we celebrate this milestone, we recognize the profound impact El Sistema has had worldwide—including here at PROJECT MUSIC. We are honored to be featured in the official El Sistema 50th-anniversary book, where PROJECT MUSIC is mentioned on page 88. This recognition reflects our commitment to carrying forward the mission of making music accessible to all.
