Honoring Afro-Venezuelan Heritage: A Musical Celebration at Strawberry Hill

On February 13, 2025, PROJECT MUSIC and Strawberry Hill School came together to celebrate Black History Month with Music from the African Diaspora. The event featured the renowned ensemble Tambor y Caña, along with students from both institutions, bringing Afro-Venezuelan traditions to life through drumming and storytelling.

This special gathering not only showcased the richness of this musical heritage but also strengthened the connection between PROJECT MUSIC and Strawberry Hill as they continue to explore the possibility of expanding the partnership. Leading up to the concert, students participated in engaging master classes where musicians shared Afro-Venezuelan drumming techniques and the cultural significance of these rhythms.
