PROJECT MUSIC Bridges Tradition and Innovation at Greenwich Library Event
In an exciting fusion of classical music and cutting-edge technology, PROJECT MUSIC will participate in the Greenwich Library's Innovation Experience Day, showcasing how traditional craftsmanship and modern 3D printing are harmonizing to create new possibilities in music education.
Visitors to the library-wide event will have the rare opportunity to see traditional wooden violins displayed alongside their 3D-printed counterparts, offering a fascinating glimpse into how technology is making musical instruments more accessible while preserving the essence of these timeless creations.

The team, led by Executive Director Gabrielle Molina and Lead String Teacher Quan, will be joined by Pri Chavez Lara, a luthier and PROJECT MUSIC's lead substitute teacher, who also serves as a makerspace teacher for the New Haven Public School District.
"These instruments represent a beautiful conversation between centuries of tradition and modern innovation," explains Chavez Lara. "Working in both luthiery and the makerspace environment has shown me how respecting traditional craftsmanship while embracing new technologies can create extraordinary opportunities for students to connect with music in ways that weren't possible before."
As the only music-focused presentation amid a diverse array of technology exhibits, PROJECT MUSIC stands out by demonstrating how the arts are evolving alongside STEM fields, often referred to as STEAM. While other stations focus on robotics, virtual reality, and coding, PROJECT MUSIC uniquely illustrates how these technological advances can preserve and enhance cultural traditions.
"We're deeply grateful to Greenwich Library for including PROJECT MUSIC in this incredible day of innovation and learning," shared the PROJECT MUSIC team. "This opportunity allows us to showcase how music education continues to evolve while honoring its rich heritage."
From 10 AM to 3 PM, attendees will find the library transformed into an interactive playground of technology and creativity, featuring everything from robot demonstrations and drone obstacle courses to virtual reality escape rooms and generative AI workshops.
